Sugar-Free Healthy Amla Murabba (Indian Gooseberry)

Preparation Steps
5 Steps Total
Thoroughly wash 500g of Amla. Steam them in a colander over boiling water for exactly 5 minutes until slightly soft. Do not overcook.
In a pan, add 500g of Mishri (rock candy) and 2 tablespoons of water. Add the steamed Amla directly into the pan.
Cook on low flame, stirring occasionally. Cover the pan to help the Mishri melt faster. The Amla will start releasing juices.
Continue simmering on low heat for 15-20 minutes until the Amla looks transparent and the syrup develops a golden-reddish hue.
Add a pinch of black salt for extra flavor. Turn off the heat and let it cool completely. The syrup will thicken as it cools.
